Demun Oyster Bar Restaurant Review

: Every morning Demun Oyster Bar lists the half-dozen Pacific Coast oysters available fresh, their price (usually around $3 each) and point of origin. Kumamotos and Sister Points make frequent appearances; others might be Deer Creek, Penn Cove Select, Humboldt Gold or Chef Creek. The sampler platter gets you three, prepared to your specification. If you like your seafood breaded and fried to a crisp, the oysters come that way, too, with dipping sauces or in po’ boys, complemented with a side of paper-thin sweet potato chips. At brunch, they come scrambled with eggs, hash browns and bacon. Owner Alan Richman, who also owns Sasha’s Wine Bar and Sasha’s on Shaw, has geared the wine list to seafood. Seats at the bar offer a chance to converse about the wine or the specialty cocktails and watch the shuckers in action.
