THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Domani Bar & Trattoria Restaurant Review:
Rene Michelena brings the culinary style for which he's known---funky yet understated, indeed deceptively complex---to this tiny trattoria, tucked into a corner of the Copley Square Hotel. Just as brown hues soften the edges of the city-slick design, thoughtful, stylish flourishes round out the so-called New Italian menu of bar nibbles, pastas, and bistro-style plates: think corned swordfish (you read that right) with smoked paprika aïoli or whole-wheat lasagna with roast chicken and almonds. The mostly Italian wine list is likewise small and select. Located at an awkward intersection that’s easily overlooked, Domani deserves more traffic---but in the meantime, it offers refuge to those of us who prefer intimate quiet to the chaos generally reigning in the Back Bay.
