Donato's, located in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it segment of Fox Chapel, boasts a smart, comfortable design that creates a prominent social stage. The menu harbors classic Italian favorites, such as veal cannelloni. There's nothing wildly experimental here, but the execution normally is skilled. Crowd-pleasers range from linguine and clams to beef carpaccio. Pastas appeal, as do house-cut meats. The restaurant also offers a vegetarian menu. Portions are generous, the wine list extensive and the bar generally is busy.
