You'll find yourself having to vie with locals and celebrities alike for tables morning, noon and night at this neighborhood favorite. But here the wait is worth it. Doughboys offers breakfast all day, featuring the restaurant's signature, unforgettable breads. Try the stuffed french toast filled with jam and cream cheese, or the scrapple and eggs with a side of still-warm French bread. Lunch and dinner items are simple but generous in size. Sandwich choices featuring that marvelous bread, which is, by the way, also sold by the loaf, include their interpretation of a muffaletta with soppresatta salami and arugula, a French dip and the Doughboys club. We love the chicken chili with thick chunks of white meat as well as the steak soup and baby mix salad. Save room for dessert, which might be oversized cookies, hummingbird and red velvet cake.
