Du Jour's have set themselves apart from other breakfast joints by the sheer fact that they understand the fragility of someone who hasn't has their coffee. A carafe appears quickly and is left for you to attack. Water is brought to the table in an ice-cold carafe and likewise left there. The menu offers something for the bacon lovers and something for the eqq-white aficionados. They love you all. Try a skillet meal like the Wanderer with bacon, tomatoes, onions and potatoes lovingly smothered under two eggs. Or go for the blueberry oatmeal pancakes that fall over the edge of the plate. Whatever you do, try to go early and bring a paper, because you will have to wait.
