Housed in the conservatory of the opulent 19th-century Petit Palace Embassy Serrano Hotel, El Invernadero (The Greenhouse) is a bright, modern and intimate dining space where you can relax and indulge in the delights of contemporary Mediterranean cuisine. Located on the ultra-exclusive Serrano street in the Salamanca district, which is home to the likes of Gucci, Versace and Cartier, it is popular with power-lunching business professionals and luxury shoppers. Start with a selection of Iberian cured ham and smoked fish hors d’oeuvres before moving on to main courses such as grilled lamb chops, roast suckling pig, and classic seafood rice dishes. A condensed wine menu lists a very well-considered selection of labels from many of Spain’s best vineyards, as well as numerous options from the rest of Europe and farther afield. Save space for the homemade apple tart with ice cream, chocolate truffles and fruit salad with mango sorbets.
