Nick Medrano moved from his catty-cornered cubby hole to a two-tiered space around the block, but still in the West Side. Nick serves up zesty ceviche, guacamole and poblano chile rellenos. We recommend all three dishes and the chicken mole, the tamales and the burritos. Stop by El Pequeno on Tuesdays when the burritos are just a buck. They are tantalizingly simple: chicken, pork, ground beef, or shredded beef plus beans and cheese. You'll jockey for space with construction workers, office workers and neighborhood folks who know home cooking when they smell it. You can also sit outside, street-side, or call ahead for pick-up.
