Pared free of refinements, this shirts-sleeves place suits big happy groups and sprawling families looking for a dining bargain. And every so often, just when there’s a lull in the conversation, the jukebox bursts into loud Latino music. Appetizers are basically the Salvadoran selections of pupusas, tamales, fried plantains and fried cassava with pork skin. (The food is mainly Mexican with a nod toward some Salvadoran dishes) Entrées zero in on such bests as chicken hard and soft tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, chimichangas and wonderfully plump cheese burritos.
