There's nothing subtle about this lively, colorful eatery, with its Southwestern décor, big-screen TVs in the bar and huge happy hour crowds. A flashier, upscale version of the ubiquitous El Torito chain, this is a popular place to meet-and-greet for antojitos and margaritas. For dinner, the menu --- a bit more compelling than the standard El Torito fare --- includes mesquite-grilled steak sopes topped with chipotle aïoli and cotija cheese, a lobster and fresh avocado quesadilla in a red chile tortilla, and filet mignon enchiladas with a mushroom-sherry sauce, in addition to the standard tacos and burritos. Deep-fried ice cream, flan and churros are available for dessert. There’s also a lengthy list of specialty margaritas.
