After catering for Atlanta's elite and powerful, including former president Jimmy Carter, Susan Steinberg and team launched this European-style bistro. The restaurant adjoins a well-appointed retail shop where diners may choose a bottle for their meal. But the restaurant does offer a good wine selection, with plenty presented by the glass. A daily soup is likely to explore unique flavors, such as lentil with fennel and truffle oil. The tiny French green lentils work their way into a number of dishes, from the mustard-crusted salmon, beautifully cooked, to a vegetarian ragoût of yellow peppers, asparagus and portobello mushrooms resting on a bed of the lentils. This is French comfort food, so braised meats and roast chicken are the stars. For dessert, check out the homemade ice creams, which may be served with a lovely dried-fruit pastry.
