THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Dupont Circle is home to many types of cuisine, but the setting and food at Etrusco set it apart from the local competition. The menu has changed materially under a different kitchen regime, tending towards simpler, leaner and cleaner flavors. Note that the menu changes nightly, keeping pace with the seasons, but we would recommend the asparagus with lemon juice and olive oil for their stark simplicity and utter perfection. If you find the seafood soup, the famed zuppa di pesce from Italy, make that your evening meal, and ask for extra grinds of black pepper. Desserts are kept to a minimum, but any of the gelati should find a welcome place at your table. Strawberry gelati, not overly sweet and intensely strawberry, is divine.
