Anyone who appreciates craft beers and spirits will find the mother lode at Eureka!, and the menu strikes a nice balancing act between gastropub and basic, but very good, bar food. Examples include the osso buco riblets tossed in spicy aïoli, the Fresno fig burger with fig marmalade and goat cheese, and the roasted beet salad with walnuts and arugula. For dessert, pair up the chocolate espresso soufflé coffee cupcake with a nice stout or porter. The restaurant can get pretty loud during peak hours, and the too-small bar area fills up quickly once happy hour rolls around. But overall, it’s a nice alternative to the college town bar scene.
