Fabbrica Restaurant Review

: With celebrity chef Mark McEwan and executive chef Andrew Ellerby at the helm, Fabbrica turns out authentic Italian cuisine crafted with quality ingredients and equipment from Italy. The wood-burning oven from Naples, which occupies nearly half of the open-concept kitchen and cooks the must-have pizzas, is a source of entertainment for guests. The funghi pie arrives with a thin, crispy crust, the faint smell of wood smoke and mushrooms with a white truffle-cream base. Meaty braised short rib sauce adorns pappardelle, while fettuccine mixes with delicate rabbit and root vegetables. The daily fritti selection might include hot and crispy smelt, mussels and shrimp, complemented by lemon caper aïoli. Desserts bring generous servings of gelati and sorbetti, while the almond torte is presented over seasonal roasted fruit with honey-lavender gelato. The restaurant is stylish with Italian accents and ’50s-style chairs and wood tables, but given the 150-seat dining room there are many areas to accommodate diners, and all with differing décor.
