Finnbar's Pub Restaurant Review:
Sean and Megan Costello purchased the Holmes & Watson restaurant, renovated the 1860's building and turned it into an Irish pub. Keeping the tin ceiling, Circassian walnut paneling and the bar --- all installed around 1910 --- and cozy bi-level courtyard, they retained a warm, welcoming atmosphere in the bar and dining room. The menu is a nice mix of traditional Irish pub fare (fish ‘n’ chips, lamb stew, and the Irish breakfast of sausage, bacon, eggs, black and white pudding and tomato, which was redesigned as a sandwich) and such modern twists as barbecue bangers (Irish sausage with house-made sauce) served with shoestring potatoes and warm kale salad, cottage pie (slow-roasted pulled beef and peas topped with a potato champ cap and brown bread with cheese on the side) and daily soup specials. There are 24 draft beers on tap. The best desserts are from Cheesecake Machismo bakery.
