FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar Restaurant Review:
Oh, that all hotel restaurants were as inviting, affordable, and produced such good Midwestern fare as this one. With its comfy horseshoe-shaped booths, an action-filled open kitchen, a brick oven (the better to sizzle steaks and chops in), and a proud chef who cares enough about the food presented here to make table rounds, it's no wonder this place hosts both locals and business travelers on expense accounts. We also appreciate the way the state's specialties are incorporated into menu offerings---the delicate walleye and wild rice cakes being examples. Entrées include a pecan-smoked pork chop, and a mesquite-grilled tenderloin. Our little secret? When we want to treat out-of-town guests to a real Minnesota favorite, we bring them here for the roasted corn-dusted walleye---along with a Lake Cabin martini. An added bonus: this is one of the few restaurants in the metro area that stays open until 3 a.m.![]()
