THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Fish Restaurant Review:

This comfortable little downtown restaurant rocketed onto the top-10 lists nationwide when it opened a couple of years ago, and was promptly named by Esquire magazine as the best new seafood restaurant in America. Today, it’s still thriving, with businesspeople packing it at lunch, and suburban couples making the trek for dinner. The menu, obviously, lists mainly aquatic creatures, but the rack of lamb with a maple rosemary glaze is well worth the detour. Gulf crab cakes, one of the best versions in town, make a good appetizer choice, as does the unusual roasted eggplant and tomato soup with toasted curry oil. The spicy bouillabaisse requires extra bread so you sop up every drop; and we also are fans of the creamy seafood risotto and the swordfish served with mango chutney and a curry coconut sauce. But whatever you order, make sure you each order the lobster mashed potatoes, as you aren’t going to share yours with anyone. The piled-high salmon club sandwich (with homemade potato chips) is swell at lunch, as is the fish and chips, and someday we’re going to try what Fish bills as Dallas’ best meatloaf.
