Flatiron Lounge, New York, NY

Flatiron Lounge Restaurant Review

: Pass through an arched candlelit walkway (flanked by bar stools) to the ancient bar counter. Could this be the ultimate New York cocktail bar? Maybe. Here the bartenders really are professional mixologists, to repeat the oft-used phrase, as they shake up a bevy of complex cocktails for the waiting masses. Fresh organic fruit (from the world over), homemade syrups and top-shelf booze go into the classic libations, and there are garnishes of fresh flowers and bouquets of herbs. Smartly dressed thirty- and forty-somethings, long-stemmed glasses in hand, get cozy in leather booths with their drinks. The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test is a mix of bourbon, pineapple, lime, cacao and green chartreuse; and a concoction of mezcal, lime, orange curaçao and house-made almond syrup is called Iron Mike. At happy hour, these fancy cocktails are available for $10.
