THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Flavor Restaurant Review

: Flavor offers relief to bargain hunters in wine country. The restaurant’s central perch astride tree-filled Courthouse Square makes it both an office-worker’s bonanza at lunchtime and a quick freeway detour. Exuberant servers in T-shirts contribute to its louder vibe. But the menu aims high, speaking foodie language, including code words such as “local” and “organic.” Perhaps that’s why the execution feels like a let-down, but it’s easy to forgive such ambition at these prices. You’ll find a broad range of starters such as pesto focaccia, steamed mussels and spicy garlic chicken wings. Come for tasty salads that can be super-sized. Or ponder more than a dozen house-made pastas --- perhaps duck ravioli, pasta with ragù made with porcini and red wine, or “napkins,” billowing sheets folded around tomato and pesto sauces with pine nuts. Gluten-free and vegan diets are also covered. Advance reservations are only taken for popular themed community table dinners held Wednesday through Friday.
