THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Floridita Restaurant Review:
Floridita may be right in the heart of Soho, but it’s trying very hard, and mainly succeeding, in transporting you to Havana (though a couple of mojitos helps the general impression of sun and sex). The upstairs bar heaves with people after office hours; the more serious restaurant downstairs has live music which makes it pretty difficult to talk. But what the heck, you’re here to have fun. And the food is surprisingly good. Try confit duck with a poached egg and crème fraîche to calm the jalapeño peppers or go for a well sourced pata negra, the cured ham from the famous Iberian pig with confit tomatoes and pickles. Spit-roast suckling pig, lobster and a Cuban hamburger are all on offer as well as steaks. Cocktails are, of course, spot on; the music is pretty good; the staff are enthusiastic. You can eat at the bar as well.
