THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Fonda San Carlos Restaurant Review:

As a result of a change in ownership, Fonda San Carlos now offers basic, and inexpensive, cooking, served buffet style. We suggest the cooked meat dishes, especially a fork-tender barbecued roasted beef and the chicken mole poblano, nestled under a rich, thick, spicy blanket of sauce. Pinto beans are decent, and the Mexican rice is fair. There are some pastas available, too, in an attempt to bring variety to the experience, as well as the occasional Asian-influenced item. Each table gets a basket of tortillas to wrap around selected morsels. There’s a dessert bar, but the orange slices are the only sweet worth considering.
