The Franklin Restaurant Review:
In a building that stood vacant on a Marigny corner for many years is now one of the coolest dining spots in town. From the eye-catching bar to the art collection, the ambience is visually engaging and only surpassed by the food. Escargot éclair anyone? How about avocado tempura with lump crab meat, or grilled oysters with garlic butter and Parmesan? Diners may choose from small plates (we like the tuna and watermelon tartare with kalamata purée) or full entrées, where the chef excels with his seared pork loin with Brussels sprouts, bacon and blue cheese. The quince, almond and goat cheese tart with honey ice cream goes well with an after-dinner brandy. Wines are carefully selected and likely to suit all comers. The designers wisely created semi-private spots throughout the restaurant allowing couples to be alone and drink craft cocktails, and business diners may engage in quiet conversations.
