: High-quality food, friendly and energetic service, and colorful interiors decorated with pottery, rugs and other artifacts are the hallmarks of this locally owned chain. The basics include good tamales, enchiladas and burritos, but there's also a fair number of seafood dishes, such as ceviche, queso fundido (melted cheese with chorizo) and fajitas. Nachos make a fine shareable opener. Chunky home-style guacamole is just the right addition to any meal. We like the carne asada and the carnitas for more authentic fare. Don't miss the grilled corn for a side item. Among the desserts, which come in mini sizes, we recommend the churros for an unusual experience, but familiar flan and sopapilla are available. Only a few wines are offered, but the list of Mexican beers is more useful with this fare. Come for karaoke on Friday nights starting at 9:30 p.m. Other locations. |
