THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Garrison's Broiler & Tap Restaurant Review:
Surrounded by the village feel of this suburban retail-restaurant complex, Garrison’s offers one of the finest patio dining sites around. Look for the soup special, which in warm weather could be a nicely textured citrus-infused tomato-based gazpacho. Creamy, rich lobster bisque is good, too, if a mite salty. Of the appetizers, don't pass up the roasted corn lobster dip. Dotted with optional anchovies, crisp Caesar salad sports a house-made dressing. Side dishes of creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes are particularly appealing, and vegetarians may compose a plate of very good items or choose something non-meat from the menu. Go for simple fare, such as one of the Niman Ranch steaks, and avoid the mushy-risotto-adorned flat-iron steak that has no flavor of its own and swims in reduced balsamic vinegar. Do get the four-layered chocolate mousse cake with its rich ganache frosting. Before or after dinner, enjoy a selection from the extensive list of single-malt scotches, while the wine list looks like pot luck at the grocery store.
