There's something to be said for keeping things simple. Case in point: Lincoln Park’s Gemini Bistro, which offers a mix of French bistro classics and contemporary American dishes. The warm ambience featuring its abundance of dark woods, white marble-topped bar and Chicago-motif artwork makes this the kind of neighborhood spot everybody wishes they had in theirs. The menu caters to appetites big and small, be it a quick snack at the cozy bar filled with regulars or a pancetta-wrapped chicken with cornbread stuffing and broccolini. Steak frites offer diners the choice of cut: New York strip or filet mignon. Look for a thoughtful wine, cocktail and beer list, too.
