: The staff here is as exuberant as a troupe of marionettes. The décor brings to mind a simple European bistro: tables topped with white linens and pots of growing herbs, plus antique buffets and an exhibition kitchen. The menu---which changes weekly---successfully synthesizes the varying tastes of Pacific Rim cultures. We like the spinach salad with shiitake mushrooms, fried yam shreds and coconut vinaigrette; seafood pot stickers; tamarind-marinated Chilean sea bass; and even the burger with mushrooms, Muenster and herbed shoestring potatoes. The restaurant's chili jam adds zest to anything. |
