The Angelinis Are Happy to Be Back | Angelini Osteria, Los Angeles, CA
April 14, 2021
It is not that husband and wife, Gino and Elizabeth Angelini, were gone, but after all these closures and semi-closures, they are happy to welcome you back to Angelini Osteria at an increased capacity. The evening I went, the restaurant, strictly following the health guidelines, was maxed out. I saw the very disappointed faces of walk-ins that could not get a table, with not even hope of later in the evening.
If they could, they would have enjoyed the rustic Italian cuisine of chef Gino, a success story that started in 2001, when Gino and Elizabeth opened their restaurant on the hip Beverly Boulevard. Dishes are classics and tend to be true to the cooking of the turn of the century — understand nothing fancy, more in a simple, home-cooking style.
“Salute!” as written on a note by Elizabeth and Gino that you will find on your table.
> Watch the tableside deboning of a whole branzino roasted in a sea salt crust ceremoniously filleted tableside.
