: Giovanni's doesn't accept reservations, so if you go on a Friday or Saturday night, expect a long wait (up to an hour). But your patience pays off, with home-cooked Italian in a no-frills setting. Slide into one of the booths and start with addictive garlic knots or mussels in marinara sauce. The hefty antipasto is a meal, with rolled Italian meats and cheeses on crisp greens with Giovanni's own vinaigrette. Noisy families share giant pizzas and calzones, regulars go for baked ziti or zuppa de pesce (seafood soup), with wine and ice-cold beer to accompany. Finish with a cannoli or tiramisu for a down-home Italian feast. Mangia! |
