Glenn is in a neighborhood where many retiree apartment buildings are located, and it’s the kind of comfortable spot where some seniors like to sit for hours enjoying coffee and companionship. The décor is plain-hospital-green walls and Formica tables-but the plate-glass windows bring in plenty of sunshine for the many plants along the perimeter. The mature crowd mixes with a steady stream of doctors and nurses from the small hospital across the street and, with this clientele, breakfast is often busier than lunch. The menu is unimaginative, but the food is hearty and fresh: big, inexpensive egg breakfasts, burgers and salads for lunch and the inevitable roast beef with gravy and mashed potatoes. Good stuff.
