Globe Bistro Restaurant Review

: Globe Bistro features seasonal fare with a focus on what is organic and local. Alongside a substantial dinner menu, the restaurant also offers Chef’s tasting menus at a fixed price, which can range anywhere from four to six courses with or without wine pairings. Guests may choose starters like spicy greens with herbs and buckthorn vinaigrette or warm roasted mushroom salad with cauliflower. Main dishes might include pheasant with a hazelnut crust, lentils and lingonberry or ricotta gnocchi with squash blossoms and fava beans, as well as Alberta bison striploin and short ribs. With over a dozen wines by the glass and hundreds of labels to consider, the wine connoisseur and the uninitiated will find something to please their palate and budget. Patrons can also bring their own bottle for a corkage fee, or drop by on Sunday for half-price bottles. Meanwhile, weekend brunch proposes the likes of stuffed french toast with spiced carrot cake bread and citrus cream cheese.
