About the restaurant: The exterior of Gracious Bakery is a beautiful, old New Orleans style, and while the interior is lackluster, the food is anything but. Although billed as a bakery, which indeed it is, this place turns out some standout breakfast and lunch items.

Food & Drinks: Breakfast is best enjoyed with a cheddar biscuit egg sandwich with cured ham and basil pesto. But if sweets are on your mind, the pastries are irresistible, as is the twice-baked French toast with whipped cream and maple syrup. Lunch sandwiches are fresh and flavorful, especially the grilled smoked cheddar version with garlic aïoli. Breads are all baked in house. Cakes and pies excel. Try the mirror-glazed chocolate caramel cake; the Key lime pie with graham cracker crust is as Southern-inspired as a pie can be. Beer and wine are available, but we suggest the house brew coffee.
