Grand Sichuan Restaurant Review:

This West Village outpost of the legendary Chinese chainlet sports an interior that is simply bedecked with exposed brick and floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on the busy avenue. A fairly standard menu shows invention: the pumpkin seed gnocchi soup is slightly salty, but its originality makes up for it. The ubiquitous dishes, such as General Tso’s chicken, are of higher quality than one finds at many Chinese restaurants. Though portions tend to be generous, be sure to save some room for the subtle pumpkin cake.
