THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Grano Restaurant Review:
A room without a view despite its riverside location may disappoint, yet the well-thought out, robust regional Italian food makes amends. Alessio Brusadins homemade pasta is outstanding: especially guinea fowl ravioli with a divine, creamy, truffle oil-infused potato purée. Gutsy mains include rabbit with black olive and thyme, and seared tuna with a serious balsamic jus. Desserts such as Marsala mousse with chocolate meringue maintain the good sense of balance and Italian authenticity. The entirely Italian wine list has some prestigious bottles worth investing in. The bare brick and wooded floorboard interior made more formal with crisp linen and astute, welcoming staff, ensures attention does not wander too far from the intelligent and diligent cooking. Set 2-course lunch £15, 3 courses £19; set 2-course dinner £19, 3 courses £24.
