Gumbeaux's Restaurant Review:

Founded in 1994, Gumbeaux's is the unofficial home to the Louisiana State University alumni chapter in the Atlanta area. What they come for besides the camaraderie is the food and the brews, many of them from the home turf. Start by sharing a platter of selected appetizers, enough for a light meal for two or for a gang to share for starters. Fried platters and po’ boys are the main draw, with fresh shucked oysters, etouffée, jambalaya, red beans and rice, gumbos and other classics of the Cajun kitchen on hand. Of course you want that bread pudding for dessert. Who are you kidding? For quaffs, the brews are best. Weekends at dinner, the line-up can be absolutely staggering, so go for an early bird seat or prepare to cool your heels and wait your turn at the upstairs bar. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
