Restaurants don’t much simpler---or much more soulful---than the Harbor, where plastic flowers, a steam line and generous servings are the rule. But the furniture is sturdy and, blessedly, there’s no jukebox. And the queue is constant for a Creole gumbo as dark as sin, studded with chicken, ham, shellfish and sausage; a succotash that translates here as a deep soup plate filled with not only lima beans and corn but also tomatoes, okra, green beans and a bit of smoked sausage. The ribs and fried chicken are, of course, authentic and delicious, and the banana pudding is properly thick and sweet.
