Stephen Lewandowski, formerly of Gotham Bar & Grill and other notable restaurants, incorporates international flavors into his expert renderings of gastropub cooking. The menu features eclectic options: coconut curry glazed baby-back ribs with jícama slaw and jalapeño cornbread; Asian-style chicken wings with peanuts, scallions and sweet chilies. There is also a mozzarella bar offering selections such as a corn and summer squash gazpacho with pulled mozzarella, and an artichoke muffuletta with a stracciatella di burrata. Hearty choices like a grilled Berkshire pork chop with sweet carrots, cashews and pickled onions over a spinach salad are inventive and satisfying. A comparably lighter pan-roasted salmon with toasted quinoa, eggplant and golden raisins in an almond beurre blanc is full of sweet and savory tastes. Beverages run the gamut from seasonal beers to rare bottles of wine from the owner's collection that will set you back a week's pay. Desserts include a pleasantly zesty citrus cheesecake with candied kumquats, and a lemon tart with slightly fermented marinated berries. Wood paneling combines with leather, filament light bulbs and metal, as well as dark tables, to create a casually chic atmosphere.
