Hartstone Inn Restaurant Review:

Breakfast is reserved for overnight guests of Hartstone Inn, but all are welcome at dinner. Choose from an à la carte menu or opt for a five-course chef’s tasting meal. You’ll almost always find Maine lobster on the former, butter poached and served with garlic-Parmesan risotto and roasted zucchini. The latter option changes weekly, and might start with a butternut squash tart followed by a portobello mushroom soup, a homemade sorbet course and perhaps an entrée of seared beef tenderloin medallions with Cabernet butter, grilled tiger shrimp and braised fingerlings. Desserts are also seasonal --- think gingerbread soufflé with spiced crème anglaise. The wine list offers a selection by the glass or bottle and covers California quite well; there is a good collection of German wines, rare on a New England list. Have a walk around the grounds after dinner and come back for a drink in the inn. You might consider indulging in one of the Hartstone’s cooking classes or foodie adventures, too.
