THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Ho Yuen Ting Restaurant Review:
This basement-level restaurant specializes in Chinese seafood, and was the first in all of Boston to do so. We're thankful that the kitchen more than one-ups the rinky-dink décor. Sweet-and-sour fish reveals the hallmark balancing act of Cantonese cookery. Conch with black bean sauce would pass muster in Hong Kong, as would some non-fish dishes such as beef with bitter melon. One thing we'll never understand are the hours---unlike most Chinatown spots, it closes well before midnight.
