: Hob Nob has endured since 1944 because of its good eats and some of the best service in the city, provided by cheerful, can-do waitresses from the old school. If you want your poached eggs medium-runny, then that's just how you'll get them. If it's old-fashioned, good and traditionally American, Hob Nob serves it (buttermilk pancakes, corned beef hash, pot roast and turkey croquettes), in generous quantities and at a fair price. You’ll find a dedicated local following inside and freshly baked treats like cinnamon rolls and muffins from the bakery. For hearty morning fare try the Hob Nob omelet with prime rib, green peppers and Jack cheese, topped with avocado; or chicken fried steak with two eggs. Lunch calls for deviled eggs, turkey croquettes or a patty melt. Dinner specials run the gamut from pot roast and corned beef and cabbage to fried scallops and jumbo shrimp. Hob Nob is truly a walk back in time. |
