Want great casual food that's reliable even if not trendy? That's the hallmark of Houston's, an old favorite locally for its predictably good burgers (even a veggie burger made with oat bran) and fries, salads and steaks, and the barbecued ribs, which some of our friends travel great distances for. We have also loved their Biltmore chicken sandwich that comes with a great coleslaw on the side and plenty of melted cheese. Check under their This and That section, where you'll find such add-ons as Cheddar Parmesan toast and couscous, plus a grilled artichoke dish that's sensational-if you don't see it listed, ask. The menus are basically the same at the three area locations, with a few minor differences.
