: An antidote to generic airport, or airplane, food, this Miami International Airport branch of Icebox Café serves some of the most definitively Miamian fare at MIA. Those who have time for a sit-down meal will find many of the chic SoBe bakery/café’s salads, artisanal hot sandwiches (grilled Camembert with apples on homemade raisin walnut bread; a scrambled egg, asparagus and cheese breakfast sandwich) or globally-inspired but less impressive entrées in a modern 40-seat quick-serve format dining room. Those rushing to catch a flight can grab pre-packaged but both healthy and tasty cold sandwiches (Thai chicken salad or hummus and spicy feta, for instance), salads, charcuterie platters or slices of the Icebox’s retro modern pastries (lemon-frosted raspberry layer cake) from Express’s refrigerated display. |
