Il Falco Restaurant Review

: In Long Island City, at the crossroads of two culinary hubs, Midtown Manhattan and Williamsburg, Brooklyn, is a traditional Italian eatery exuding warmth and dishing up classically prepared fare with a side of old-world service. Polished wood, big fresh roses, white tablecloths, an intimate second floor, a peaceful backyard garden and front bar provide the backdrop for a traditional dining experience. Among starters are generously stuffed mushrooms and clams oregano. Large plates are the focus, however, with pastas like gnocchi tossed in pesto and specialties such as salt-encrusted baked branzino hitting the mark. Desserts include the usual Italian delicacies from cannolis to cheesecake. A mostly Italian-regional wine list with Brunellos and Amarones as well as more affordable selections makes Il Falco a neighborhood go-to and appropriate for a special occasion splurge.
