: Veronique de Lestang founded this Italian café in 1991 and it became the first Beverly Hills restaurant with outdoor seating. In the morning, stop by for a good espresso and a flaky ham and cheese croissant. Later in the day, the chicken Dijon sandwich alone justifies a visit, but you'll also find fresh salads and some very satisfying pastas, such as three-cheese ravioli in marinara or pesto, or penne Lorenzo with grilled chicken, goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and fresh basil in a light marinara sauce. The restaurant's name comes from the grilled Italian finger sandwich, which is on offer filled with turkey and provolone, salami or mozzarella and tomato. Tables of two or three can also nibble on large plates of prosciutto, mozzarella and Brie with roma tomatoes. Desserts like tiramisu, mixed berry tart and cannoli are imported from Milan. |
