Industry Kitchen Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant and décor: Located by the East River and offering views of Brooklyn, Industry Kitchen blends seamlessly with its waterfront surroundings. An open and airy design structure marked by recycled natural materials, floor-to-ceiling windows and neutral tones sets the backdrop for all-day seasonal New American dining.

Likes: Floor-to-ceiling windows allow views of the East River and the skyline throughout the year, while an outdoor terrace and bar offers seasonal al fresco dining.
Dislikes: Bench seating on the terrace can be cramped during prime dining hours.

About the food: Appetizers like grilled cauliflower dusted with pecorino and served with a zesty lemon caper relish, and blistered shishito peppers seasoned with sea salt, lemon and olive oil that provides just enough heat without being overpowering are simply but well prepared. Meanwhile, savory grilled octopus with chorizo, potatoes and tomatoes, and mussels bathed in an aromatic shallot, garlic and white wine broth make for ideal seafood centered beginnings. The restaurant's wood-burning oven turns out a number of well-executed entrées, including a fork tender lamb shank braised in a port wine sauce and accompanied by wild mushrooms and squash risotto. Pizzas are a draw here; keep it classic and order a margherita topped with tomatoes, mozzarella and basil. Otherwise, depart from the traditional and go for a spinach and artichoke pie, or a bacon and sweet potato combination. A dessert menu presents an eclectic mix of sweet tooth satisfying options, such as a blueberry pie and a decadent and shareable Industry puff pastry.

About the drinks: A global wine list, beers on tap and by the bottle, and inventive cocktails ensure there is a beverage for every food pairing possibility.
