Inn the Park Restaurant Review:
The eco-trendy wood-decorated restaurant with its grass roof comes as something of a surprise in stately St. James's Park. The concept of successful restaurateur Oliver Peyton, Inn the Park champions simple British cooking using the freshest local ingredients, and on the whole succeeds. We suggest dishes like the summer salad of peas, broad beans and goat curd, nettle dumplings with charred asparagus and sheep’s cheese, grilled sea trout with saffron courgettes, and lamb chop with tomato and anchovy. Children are offered proper food and drink. Staff can be either great or indifferent. With its friendly opening hours (from noon on Saturday and Sunday), it’s a popular place for people meeting after work for a drink on a summer evening or romantic al fresco dinners, and a welcome pit-stop for ladies who like to walk in the park. The downside is the odd self-service area and the less than inspiring interior.
