Ivy Restaurant Review:

The avenues of Hell’s Kitchen are flanked by restaurant after restaurant, so it’s a challenge for any eating establishment to stand out. Unless, of course, you have a huge, well-lit sign with the eatery’s name on it, as is the case with Ivy. It’s also hard to tell what Ivy is exactly at first glance. Do the flickering mega TVs give it away as a sports bar? Does the long bar imply this is a watering hole? Or wait, there’s a more civilized dining room in back, so is it a restaurant? It may be all of the above. What’s churned out of the kitchen, essentially decent bar food, is very eatable and great for grazing. The chef takes our obsession with Brussels sprouts and bacon and kicks it up a notch by putting them in the frying pan before sending out the dish. Lobster tacos are quite satisfying (especially with the addition of basil cream), and the burger has the added crunch of potato chips that lurk under the bun. The bar, meanwhile, mixes up anything and everything; there are also several brews on tap and a handful of wines by the glass.
