: Embossed tin ceilings, elaborately carved wood and vintage chandeliers set the sepia-toned mood at this landmark Aspen hotel bar, where the rich and famous have rubbed shoulders with ski bums and bunnies for decades (as did the silver-digging settlers before them). Made with local beef and piled high with supplemental luxuries like lobster salad and mushroom duxelles, the signature burger is justly famous, and so is the bourbon-spiked vanilla milkshake, nicknamed the Aspen Crud. The rest of the menu follows suit, comprised of trend-conscious tavern provisions like Korean-style tacos, yogurt-roasted cauliflower with shishito peppers, and beignets in burnt honey sauce. There are craft beers and cocktails as well that, all things considered, could probably be priced even higher than they are, especially considering Aspen's moneyed clientele. |
