One look at the menu and you know this place is different. Unusual flavor combinations, varied cuisines and healthy fare, combined with casual outdoor dining and a beautiful international crowd, make for a notable evening. To wit: Greek salad, linguine bolognese, French beef, and crispy poulet with tonkatsu sauce all share the same menu. What makes the food stand out is its freshness. For starters, try the stuffed dynamite mushrooms, filled with spinach, mozzarella and garlic. The Malibu coconut shrimp appetizer is almost like a meal, served with arugula salad and a scoop of rice for sopping up the rum and coconut milk sauce. Entrées will not disappoint. The North Shore fish and pumpkin sauce is a concoction of cubed mahi mahi and a sweet, curry-like pumpkin sauce made with bananas, oranges and miso butter. The tempura salmon ahi wrap, a deep-fried sushi roll filled with fish, crab and pickled ginger, is hearty and satisfying. The fresh steamed broccoli served alongside these mains is a welcome touch. The vegetarian dishes are also impressive, particularly the curries and the tofu stir-fry served over linguine. For dessert, the chocolate chip macadamia nut cookie, topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate sauce, is simple and heavenly.
