From a once tiny (now 5,000-square-foot) spot, a chain of ice cream parlors for the 21st century has emerged. This location is in a tiny building, so offers only ice creams and coffees (no sandwiches or salads) and has only outdoor seating. Being near Emory University, it's a favorite student gathering spot. All ice creams are made in small batches at the corporate plant. Ambience in all is a tad funky, with painted brick walls, zany art (for sale) and comfortable upholstered seating that usually is taken by twenty-something student types. It's a contemporary coffeehouse, lunch spot and ice cream parlor all rolled into one. Our favorites in the ice cream department are the ginger and the German chocolate cake, but who's to say what's best? Let your own tastebuds do the sampling. Passionate attention to detail includes growing its own figs for the honey-fig, so that's only available in fig season. Sorbets are intense fruit flavored experiences, with our vote going to the raspberry. Alcohol is not an option. Not all menu items are available at all stores, as they vary widely in size.
