From a once tiny (now 5,000-square-foot) spot, a chain of ice cream parlors for the 21st century has emerged. This location is in the basement of a former early 20th-century Midtown residence. Painted brick walls, funky art for sale and upholstered seating soften what might be a fairly difficult space to make comfy. All ice creams are made in small batches. It's a contemporary coffeehouse, lunch spot and ice cream parlor all rolled into one. Our favorites in the ice cream department are the ginger and the German chocolate cake, but who's to say what's best? Let your own tastebuds do the sampling. Passionate attention to detail includes growing its own figs for the honey-fig, so that's only available in fig season. Sorbets are intense fruit flavored experiences, with our vote going to the raspberry. Good coffee by Atlanta Coffee Roasters is the beverage of choice.
