THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Jam Restaurant Review:

At this quaint Ukrainian Village restaurant, the most important meal of the day gets a major overhaul. Chickpea owner Jerry Suqi puts the spotlight on breakfast, along with chef Jeffrey Mauro (Charlie Trotter’s, North Pond), who is in charge of the open kitchen. Fortunately, this place is more than ready for its close-up with inventive dishes like cured trout quiche, malted custard french toast, scrambled eggs with braised pork cheeks and, of course, house-made jams. The first tip-off that this place isn’t breakfast as usual comes in the amuse-bouche that arrives on the granite-topped tables (ours was a mini olive oil muffin topped with a small orange slice). The hip factor is high --- clear Lucite chairs, modern flower arrangements --- but so is the comfort level, with a big front window, white-and-gray walls and super-friendly service. Even non-breakfast lovers will dig the double-patty Butterkäse cheese-topped burger and creative salads (octopus with frisée and chorizo, perhaps?). Remember to bring cash, as credit cards are not accepted.
